Meet Tara
Hi, my name is Tara Beaudoin-Ambrose and I started Alternative Billing Solutions, LLC
in 2004. When I was in high school I thought long and hard about becoming a psychologist. My high school guidance counselor was a hero in my eyes and I just adored her. Well, time went by and I realized that while I LOVED the idea of being a counselor it would not be a good fit for me. So, my focus changed, and I ended up graduating from college as a double major with degrees in English and Women's Studies. I was burned out from all the writing and reading and just wanted a nice little office job.
I went to work in a chiropractic office, first in Yarmouth and then moved to a Portland office. In the Portland office, there was a mental health counselor and a chiropractor sharing office space. Routinely each would complain that billing was time consumptive and cumbersome. These providers just wanted to do what they did best- they wanted to treat people! They didn't want to worry about dealing with insurance carriers and patient billing!
I quickly found I like the cumbersome, detailed orientated work. The thrill of getting a claim paid right and knowing the provider was reimbursed properly by both patient and carrier made me happy. It wasn't long before it was clear that I should open a billing company working with chiropractors and mental health professionals! In 2004 I signed my first 2 clients- the chiropractor I worked for in that office and one of her colleagues- many of her patients, who were counselors, also joined my rolls rather quickly. Thus, Alternative Billing Solutions, LLC was born!
Meet Anthony
In 2007 my life partner, Anthony Ambrose, also became my business partner. Anthony switched from the high pressure, long hours of being a chef and restaurant manager to taking a position at a local chamber of commerce during the day and working with me at night. At that time, I was a work from home mother to our daughter, and Anthony and I would do the bulk of our client work in the evening. In 2011, after the birth of our son, Anthony came on board with ABS, LLC full time and we have never looked back! We increased our client rolls and have been loving working together ever since!
In 2016 our life took another turn and we decided to blend our family with another family and now we have 3 adults, 3 children, 1 cat, 1 dog, and a completely secure, HIPAA compliant medial billing business under one roof at 35 Pine Ridge Road in Saco! We truly believe it takes a village to raise children and strong community is essential for well-being!
